A Comfortable Chair

January 24, 2010 By: Nepthaly Talavera Category: emotions, wisdom, work 2 Comments →

A comfortable chair isn’t revolutionary.  But it gave people a place to sit and read.  Or strike up a conversation.  Something as simple as a chair changed the way people drank their coffee.

Suddenly, it’s not just a chair anymore.  It’s a welcome mat.  A hug from a friend or the beginning of a friendship.  And it’s never the same thing twice.

This is quite amazing.  You can now make your own slide shows on the web without using PowerPoint.  It behaves like a PowerPoint slide shows but was created using XHTML!  So if you knew HTML and CSS this would be so easy for you to learn. Check it out.  Here is the link for the tutorial.  To go to the next slide, just click anywhere on the page.  Enjoy!

how tired i am of this unbearable distance between us…
how i long for the toll of the recess bell…
have you forgotten me?
grown mindless of me…
tell me i a not writing into an abyss or that is what will become of my heart…

Bill Gates’s 11 Rules of Life

June 19, 2008 By: Nepthaly Talavera Category: facts, infotech, wisdom, work 10 Comments →

Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school.  He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.

Rule 1 : Life is not fair – get used to it!

Rule 2 : The world won’t care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3 : You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won’t be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule 4 : If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.

Rule 5 : Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity.

Rule 6 : If you mess up, it’s not your parents’ fault, so don’t whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7 : Before you were born, your parents weren’t as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent’s generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8 : Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they’ll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn’t bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

Rule 9 : Life is not divided into semesters. You don’t get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.

Rule 10 : Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11 : Be nice to nerds. Chances are you’ll end up working for one.

the reason we have life

June 07, 2008 By: Nepthaly Talavera Category: emotions, wisdom 8 Comments →

you have to see your own importance
live…
no matter what…
there is nothing important in this world than life
you have to do your very best right up until you die
live a good life and then, you’ll find your most important person
your very important person
and that person whom you treasure more than anything, will be your strength
you’ll grow accustomed to their kindness…
they’ll bring peace of mind…

and whenever you face real troubles,
i will be there to help you…
i will… i promise…
i will always watch over you
i will always be your supporter
i will make a miracle…
so you would not die.
keep this in mind…
for human beings, life isn’t the same thing as living…
it’s because we want to live…
that is the reason we have life.

we all knew that life is difficult,  it’s complicated.  but no matter how hard it is we always find a way to make it easy to live… no matter how painful it is we always find time to laugh on it…no matter how unclear it is we work hard to keep it on track…eventhough it is almost lost in the wilderness we always believe that there is hope in it… that’s life… though it sucks it is worth living for…so how’s you life?

pale cocoon(Aoi Tamago)

April 14, 2008 By: Nepthaly Talavera Category: wisdom 1 Comment →

i happened to discover a cool anime today… it was entitled Pale Cocoon(Aoi Tamago)… it was a short OVA with a very good topic… kinda philosophical… it’s hard to understand it at first or probably you will judge it as boring… but listen, read and watch it carefully…. you would understand what the characters were thinking…how they feel about their situation…and what it is trying to tell you… i really love the graphics and animation… the electronic book where you can store restored data and information(pictures, audio and video) and the very cool electronic DTR Card… wow! that is so cool… truly a science fiction as it should be…simple but it rocks! not to mention the it’s great story…check it out… i don’t have to tell you what the movie is all about… see it for yourself… i watch it at crunchyroll.com

here’s the OST of the movie

food

we may live without poetry, music and art;
we may live without conscience, and live without heart;
we may live without friends;
we may live without books;
but we cannot live without food.
