my God!

October 27, 2008 By: Nepthaly Talavera Category: philisophy

i didn’t believe it, and yet i walked on, closer and closer, unable to stop myself, and then stopped where we are now, staring at the figure who sat on that rock before me, looking up at me here.  It was God!  There was no question.  He was sheathed in flesh, dark-skinned form the sun, dark-haired, and had the dark eyes of the desert people, but it was God! My God!

and there he sat in this fleshly body, looking at me with human eyes, and the eyes of God, and I could see the Light totally filling Him and contained within Him and concealed from the outside world by His flesh as if it were th strongest membrane betwixt Heaven and Earth.

if there is more terrible than this revelation, it was that He was looking at me and that he knew me and had been waiting for me, and that all I felt for Him, as I looked at Him, was love.

doughnuts

September 12, 2008 By: Nepthaly Talavera Category: emotions, health, laughter, wisdom, work

i feel like eating a doughnut today… why? nothing actually… well every time i’m down and disappointed… i would easily dragged my self in any restaurants nearby and eat til i can’t eat anymore… eheheh it was somewhat my way of releasing all these bad energies inside me and channel it on the food served before me.. ehehehe weird… but i try to restrain my self from getting stress because if it continues then i would end up weighing twice in the next few months…fortunately i got myself quickly in front of my PC clicking the left and right button of my small black ibm mouse playing WarCraft or DotA most of the time…. after such i log-on to Ragnarok and kill some players online…it’s good that Ragnarok now allow such Player Kill(PK) features… of the 10 prospects i tried to kill, only 2-3 were successful.. 70% of them killed me without mercy… ehehehehe and so i press the escape button and log-out… but since i’m in the office now… and i felt disappointed… that nothing works well around me… that i’m such a looser and a failure today… guess i will get myself a doughnut now… ehehehehe… hmmm i think a coffee too is a best partner for it…

August 29, 2008 By: Nepthaly Talavera Category: emotions, wisdom, work

yesterday i bought 3 venti-size strawberry & creme frapp coffees, for Module 2’s Top 3 Trainees…. it was a bit late though.. and R has kept on reminding me with their coffees…and so i gave up and bought them their well deserve coffees…thinking that it would somehow relieve them from the stress and pressure of the training and would feel a little motivated… to continue and keep on studying hard… sometimes we need a little appreciation on the things we had done.. a little praise is enough than nothing at all….a coffee will do… so appreciate someone by treating him/her with a cup of coffee….

the act of marriage

August 11, 2008 By: Nepthaly Talavera Category: facts

i’ve read this article on marriage or actually marital sex on a newspaper article… and what surprise me was that the teachings on what they called Catholic Kama Sutra - art of making love of married couples - were coming from a religious group… and to think of it SEX was a sensitive issue for them… well try to read it yourself…

On the page entitle The Act of Marriage you can find issues connected with sex. To be exact, the contents pertain to married couples that arrange their sexual life according to the teaching of the Catholic Church.

The Apostolic group „marriages’ communion” is a chain of Catholic marriages that discover the beauty of matrimonial spirituality in the most intimate area as sexuality is. They learn to treat a sexual intercourse as a sacred act; the time of meeting God and husband/wife.

It is quite interesting.. thinking how the Catholic Church would view sex in their own perspective.

my promotion speech

July 20, 2008 By: Nepthaly Talavera Category: emotions, facts, wisdom, work

Friday… the last day of the week.. also our company’s MGM(monthly general meeting)… and one of the agenda was the announcement from the HR — Promotions… but even before friday i was already inform of my promotion, thus i was told to prepare a speech… i was a bit happy and worried.. happy coz it’s a promotion which means increase in salary, increase in position and status… the part am worried of is the workload and responsibilities.. guess i’ll be having tons of it starting nextweek… eheheheh also i was happy coz it seems that the promotion was a gift for my birthday which i will be celebrating on Monday… a good timing actually… ehehehe
the following day, Saturday, was actually my flight to my hometown… i planned to have a 1 week vacation leave to celebrate my birthday and have some rest from work.. because i knew that after my rest is hell lot of job for me… so here’s my impromptu speech( i never prepared one on the day i was told)…. me <--- stubborn sometimes... ehehehe

“for the management, thank you very much for giving me the chance to step-up and face more work challenges. I may not be able to perform the new that i have well, but i will do my very best to perform my tasks better. Indeed change is inevitable, it’s either you resist it or accept it. And by accepting it means accepting the challenge it has in store for you and be prepared for the risks/problems it would inflict on you. It also means moving forward and climbing up the latter, carrying with you more work and responsibilities and great expectations. But don’t worry about it, everything will be alright. You just need to smile and be positive.”

enjoy the coffee

June 26, 2008 By: Nepthaly Talavera Category: wisdom

just like to share to you an article on coffee emailed by my brother.. i had read this article already be he had sent me this…. it was entitled enjoy the coffee…

A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their

old university professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in

work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and

returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups - porcelain, plastic,

glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite - telling them to

help themselves to hot coffee.

When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said:

“If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind

the plain and cheap ones. While it is but normal for you to want only the best for

yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress.

What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went

for the best cups and were eyeing each other’s cups.

Now if life is coffee, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups.

They are just tools to hold and contain Life, but the quality of Life doesn’t change.

Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee in it.”

So, don’t let the cups drive you… enjoy the coffee instead.

Bill Gates’s 11 Rules of Life

June 19, 2008 By: Nepthaly Talavera Category: facts, infotech, wisdom, work

Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school.  He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.

Rule 1 : Life is not fair - get used to it!

Rule 2 : The world won’t care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3 : You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won’t be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule 4 : If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.

Rule 5 : Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity.

Rule 6 : If you mess up, it’s not your parents’ fault, so don’t whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7 : Before you were born, your parents weren’t as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent’s generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8 : Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they’ll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn’t bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

Rule 9 : Life is not divided into semesters. You don’t get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.

Rule 10 : Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11 : Be nice to nerds. Chances are you’ll end up working for one.
